With decades of experience as a yoga and bodywork therapist, plus an Honors degree in Biology from Brown University, I delight in sharing with you practical, pleasurable ways to tap into your body’s core wisdom and power.

My greatest pleasure is guiding you to the core vitality abiding within your body’s center. I look forward to sharing the gentle — and amazingly effective — pleasures of self-healing with you.

A devotée of the body’s center

Truly, I’m a devotée of the body’s center. I love that this one point — dan tian in Chinese, hara in Japanese — is the one-point we humans have in common. Women and men around the world and throughout time have energized the body’s center through dance, healing rites, movement arts, and spiritual practice as a way to cultivate Source Energy.

To name and value the body’s center-point we’ve used phrases that translate, for example, from Korean as “Energy Garden,” from Sanskrit as “Luminous Pearl,” from Hopi as “Throne of the Creator,” and from Chinese as “Sea of Vitality” and “Gate of the Mysterious Female.”

Decades of training and experience

During and since my nearly eight years on staff at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA, I’ve trained and worked in several healing modalities: Kripalu Yoga Therapy, Kripalu Bodywork, Polarity Therapy, Touch for Health (Applied Kinesiology), and TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises). I’ve also trained and served as a holistic health educator, helping people live healthy lives even with diabetes, chronic pain, and other chronic conditions.

A yoga instructor since 1979, I’ve delved into a Japanese style of hara-charging yoga, Oki Do. I’ve also studied several forms of Tai Chi and Qigong with teachers including Ken Cohen, Chungliang Al Huang, Master Chen, and Michael Winn. I’ve taught Tai Chi to relieve arthritis, improve balance, and prevent falls.

Most recently, I’ve trained with MELT Method founder Sue Hitzmann and MELT’s Master Trainers in this gentle, effective, and immediately rewarding approach to living an active, healthy, pain-free life at any any age.
